ENROLMENT INFORMATION
ENROLMENT SCHEME / ZONE
Kelston Girls’ College Board of Trustees has implemented an Enrolment Scheme/ School Zone as directed by the Ministry of Education, effective Term 1, 2023.
All students living within our home zone are entitled to enrol if they are eligible to attend. If they wish to be part of the BIlingual pathways they need to apply for a space. This is not automatic entry.

STEP 1: COMPLETE THE ONLINE ENROLMENT FORM
Online enrolment for all in zone students wishing to start in 2025 is open at this link: Enrolment 2025. Applications close 30 August 2024.
Once the online enrolment application has been completed, the school will contact you to attend for an enrolment interview. If you are applying as part of the bilingual pathways you will also need a Te Wheke enrolment interview.
STEP 2: ATTEND ENROLMENT INTERVIEW
These are normally at a set time any whanau attend during that time.
Once is this is all complete, then an acceptance letter is sent out. All paperwork must be in place before a students is fully accepted for enrolment and starts school.
Kelston Girls’ College is able to offer placements to a certain number of students (to be determined by the School Board) who live outside of our home zone. Where the number of students exceeds the places available, a ballot will be held, applications will be processed in the following order of priority:
Priority 1: Applicants for enrolment in special programmes:
Kelston Girls’ College offers Te Wheke Bilingual Pathways:
Māori
Samoan
Tongan
Priority 2: Applicants who are siblings of current students
Priority 3: Applicants who are siblings of former students
Priority 4: Applicants who are children of former students
Priority 5: Applicants who are children of Board employees or Board members
Priority 6: All other applicants
STEP 1: COMPLETE THE ONLINE ENROLMENT FORM
Online enrolment for all out-of-zone students wishing to start in 2025 is open at this link: Enrolment 2025 before 4pm Wednesday 4 September 2024.
Confirmation of application for OUT OF ZONE ballot must be sent to whanau
STEP 2: Await the result of the ballot - you will be notified if you are successful and will be offered a place by 4pm on 16 September
Email to be sent if successful or number on waitlist if unsuccessful
STEP 3 : Accept place by 4pm Friday 27 September and attend enrolment interview
STEP 4: ATTEND ENROLMENT INTERVIEW
Out-zone enrolment interview timings are to be confirmed.

To avoid overcrowding or the likelihood of overcrowding, the board of Kelston Girls’ College has implemented an enrolment scheme that has been developed by the Secretary for Education. Under this scheme, students will be enrolled if they live within the home zone as described here.
Prospective students who have a sibling enrolled at the school on 1st January 2023 will be treated as in-zone students for enrolment purposes.
The enrolment of out-of-zone students is governed by the provisions of the Education and Training Act 2020. The enrolment scheme, which includes a precise description of the home zone, may be viewed at the school office, where copies of the scheme are also available.
